Dodge City - Lupe A. Alcaraz, 89, died January 18, 2019 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. She was born on January 24, 1929 at Deerfield, Kansas the daughter of   Merced and Josefina (Munoz) Aguilera.

She married Leonard P. Alcaraz on February 21, 1949 in Garden City, he preceded her in death on November 25, 1996. Mrs. Alcaraz loved working with ceramics and playing games, especially Bingo. She was also an active partner in her husband's home building business helping him build many homes in the Garden City area. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Alcaraz loved serving her church, and working in the church nursery.

She was a member of the Abundant Life Family Church of Dodge City.

She is survived by two daughters Patricia "Pat" A. Rodriguez and husband Richard of Dodge City; Mary Kay Remigio of Kansas City, Missouri. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Ramona "Mona" Ortiz and two infant sons Frank and Leonard.

Funeral service will be held at Abundant Life Family Church on Saturday January 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Dr. Jim Ames and pastor Lydia Ames presiding.  Burial will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Abundant Life Church in care of the funeral home.
