Coldwater – Lyle Thomas Stein, 70, died November 20, 2018 at Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, Kansas.  He was born on March 25, 1948 at St. Anthony Hospital in Dodge City, the son of Thomas and Marcella (Knobbe) Stein.

Lyle was raised in the Windthorst , Kansas area. He attended grade school and graduated from Immaculate Heart of Mary High School at Windthorst.  Lyle furthered his education by attending and graduating from Dodge City Community College, and later attended Saint Mary of the Plains College. Mr. Stein served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1968 to 1972.

He is survived by two brothers Leslie Stein and wife Deb of Hartford, Kansas; Locke Stein of Spearville; three sisters Lyla Strecker of Spearville; La Rae Slattery and husband Tim of Wright; and Lori Snyder and husband Angus of Spearville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Carl Strecker.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday November 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Robert A. Schremmer presiding.  Inurnment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Spearville.  There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.  Memorials are suggested to the Pioneer Lodge in care of the funeral home.
