Lynetta "Nettie" Kay Skaggs 81 passed away on April 27, 2026 at Trinity manor in Dodge City. She was born on March 15, 1945 in Ransom, Kansas the daughter of Josephine (Schwartzkopf) Bauer and John Bauer.

She was the second oldest child of 11 children. She grew up in Arnold, Kansas and was a graduate of ransom High School. She married Riley E. Skaggs in 1966 and later divorced but always remained good friends while working for him at Kates. She held various secretarial and bookkeeping jobs, including Leonard Tire, OK Tire, and Kate's Bar and Grill, her final job before retirement.

She is survived by her three daughters Carla Barth and husband Derrick of Dodge City, Dawn Skaggs and companion JR of Dodge City, and Laura Betz and husband Shane of Olathe; four grandchildren, Marty Gusman of Cimarron, Brenya Skaggs of McKinney, Texas, Creighton McCain of Dodge City, Ashlyn Betz of Olathe; five great grandchildren, Marty Jr., Ava, Rhylie, Kaysone, Laynie; and bonus great grandson, Zayne. She is also survived by her siblings, Slyvia Bauer, Judy Lee, Linda Ummel, Mark Bauer, Ruth Bauer, Juanita Ottley, Jake Bauer, and Beatrice Bauer; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carole Wolfe; and her brother, Del Bauer.
