DODGE CITY - Magro G. Martinez, 87, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Western Plains Medical Complex at Dodge City, KS. He was born on November 21, 1922 at Dodge City, the son of Roy S. and Guadalupe (Gonzalez) Martinez.

Mr. Martinez was a lifetime resident of Dodge City. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WWII.

He was a member of Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Guadalupe.

Survivors include four sisters, Mary Remigio of Dodge City, Dora Hernandez of Lamar, Colorado,Tillie Atencio and Josephine Renfro both of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and one brother Pete Martinez of San Diego, California, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Manuel, and sisters in law Dora and Ruth Martinez.

Graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Military rites will be conducted by Howard Gotschall Post # 1714, V.F.W., Dodge City. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
