Dodge City - Manuel Alarcon, 57, died March 14, 2025 in an automobile accident on I-70 near Goodland.  He was born on December 20, 1967 in Chichihualco, Mexico, the son of Ricardo and Beatriz Alarcon.

As a young boy, Manuel completed his education in Chichihualco, Mexico.  On July 11, 1989, he married Ana Lidia Millan in Mexico.  They moved to Nebraska in 1990 and then to Dodge City in 1995.  Manuel first went to work at Cargill and then began working for Blue Sage, an oil construction company.

Manuel was an avid soccer fan. He enjoyed listening to music and gardening.  Manuel was the proud father of four beautiful daughters and loved spending time with them.

He was an active member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City.

Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Ana Lidia Millan de Alarcon of Dodge City; four daughters, Jessica Alarcon-Millan, Dania Alarcon-Millan, Ashey Alarcon-Millan and Anahi Alarcon-Millan all of Dodge City; one brother, Oscar Alarcon; two sisters, Guadalupe Alarcon and Hilda Alarcon; and his father.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Beatriz Alarcon; and one sister, Ma Del Carmen Alarcon.

Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. Vigil Service will be Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home. Le precedieron en la muerte su madre, Beatriz Alarcón; y una hermana, Ma Del Carmen Alarcón.

La misa funebre se celebrará en la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Dodge City, el lunes 24 de marzo de 2025 a las 10:00 a. m. A continuación, el entierro se realizará en el Cementerio Maple Grove de Dodge City. El velatorio se realizará en la Funeraria Swaim el domingo 23 de marzo de 2025, de 12:00 a 5:00 p. m.
