Margaret Ann "Peggy" Sober, 87, went to be with her Savior on August 20, 2026, at her home in Dodge City. She was born on March 22, 1939 in Lawndale, California, to George and Frances Smith.
Peggy grew up in Kersey, Colorado and graduated valedictorian from Kersey High School. On January 12, 1958 she married Clyde Sober in Kersey. She was a homemaker and later worked at Gibson's retail store and Gibson's warehouse in Dodge City.
She was a long time member of Bible Baptist Church of Dodge City and was devoted to her faith. Peggy taught Sunday school classes for many years and also loved corresponding with missionaries for the church. Clyde and Peggy loved housing visiting pastors, missionaries and evangelists along with their families. Peggy was a kind and loving host for many visitors who stayed in her home through the years. Her children and grandchildren have fond memories of the many holidays and vacations spent in her "big" home. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening, and painting.

Hope, Greg and Rose Sober of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Ruth and David Williams of Lake Wales, Florida, Tammy and Lawrence Williams of Dodge City, Tim and Nubia Sober of Lancaster, California; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Frances Smith, her sister Connie Ward and her son Daniel Sober.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Swaim funeral Chapel of Dodge City. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Dodge. Memorial donations can be made to the Bible Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
