Dodge City - Maria de Luz "Lucy" Rosales de Montes, 65, died November 21, 2019 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.  She was born on June 3, 1954 in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Lino Diaz-Hernandez and Maria De Jesus-Ibarra.

Maria spent her childhood in Juarez, Mexico where she attended elementary school.  At the age of 17, she married and then later moved to the United States, making her home in Dodge City.  Maria worked at National Beef in the fabrication department.  She liked to listen to music, had a wonderful sense of humor, and enjoyed family get togethers.  Maria was always willing to help out anyone in need.

She is survived by four children, Olivia Morales and husband Saul, Carlos Montes, Jose Montes, and Fernando Montes and wife Mayra all of Dodge City; five sisters, Gila Lara, Rocio Avelar, and Espersa Robles all of California, Clara Diaz-Rosales and Alma Diaz-Rosales both of Juarez, Mexico; two brothers, Lino and Victor Diaz both of Juarez; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and two sisters.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 1:00 PM.  Cremation will follow the service and a private family burial will be at a later date.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Friday November 29, 2019 from noon to 8:00 PM.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
