Dodge City - Maria G. Gonzales, 67, died February 6, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.  She was born on June 22, 1954 at Chihuahua, Mexico the daughter of Margarito and Elisa (Contretras) Quinonez.

Maria married Augustine Gonzales on October 4, 1980 in Dodge City.

Maria enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, and riding horses. She also loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Augustine Gonzales of Wichita; two daughters, Monica Gonzales of Wichita and Michelle Gonzales of Wichita; two sons, Augustine Gonzales of Wichita and Michael Gonzales of Independence; 10 grandchildren; four sisters; and six brothers.

Funeral mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 9:00 AM with Fr. Rudin Din presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM with a vigil to follow at 7:00 PM at the church.  Memorials are suggested to Maria Gonzales Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
