Dodge City - Maria Imelda Quinonez Contreras, 66, died June 24, 2024 at St. Catherine Hospital of Dodge City.  She was born on May 13, 1958 at Chihuahua, Mexico the daughter of Margarito Quinonez and Eliza Contreras.

Maria was an exemplary mother, incredible grandmother and a very caring and happy person. She lived for her family. Maria was a hard worker all her life where she was a cook at Manor of the Plains. Since an early age she liked to read.

She attended the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Saydee & Luis Tinoco of Dodge City; four grandchildren, Luis, Jr and Veronica Tinoco, Saul Tinoco, Saydee and Carlos Loya, and Claudio Tinoco; five great grandchildren, Emeri Tinoco, Alvaro Loya, Roman Tinoco, Isabella Loya, and Leonel Loya; and eight siblings, Margarito, Gilberto, Porfirio, Juan, Antonio, Ramona, Betty, and Lilly Quinonez. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Guadalupe, Raul, and Viviano Quinonez.

Vigil service will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at the Cathedral on Tuesday July 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday July 1, 2024 from Noon to 5:00 PM. María fue una madre ejemplar, una abuela increíble y una persona muy cariñosa y feliz. Vivía para su familia. María fue una gran trabajadora toda su vida, donde fue cocinera en Manor of the Plains. Desde pequeña le gustaba leer.

Asistió a la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Dodge City.

A María le sobreviven su hija, Saydee y Luis Tinoco de Dodge City; cuatro nietos, Luis, Jr y Verónica Tinoco, Saúl Tinoco, Saydee y Carlos Loya, y Claudio Tinoco; cinco bisnietos, Emeri Tinoco, Álvaro Loya, Román Tinoco, Isabella Loya y Leonel Loya; y ocho hermanos, Margarito, Gilberto, Porfirio, Juan, Antonio, Ramona, Betty y Lilly Quiñónez. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y hermanos, Guadalupe, Raúl y Viviano Quiñónez.

La misa funebre se llevará a cabo en la Catedral el martes 2 de julio de 2024 a las 10:00 a. m. con el Padre Wesley Schawe presidiendo. Seguirá el entierro en el cementerio Maple Grove en Dodge City. El velorio será en Swaim Funeral Chapel el lunes 1 de julio de 2024 desde el mediodía hasta las 5:00 p.m. El servicio de vigilia se llevará a cabo en la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe el lunes 1 de julio de 2024 a las 7:00 p.m.  Se sugieren donaciones a la familia a cargo de la funeraria.
