Sublette - Marilyn McIver, 81, died February 21, 2021 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born on June 26, 1939 in Stratton, Nebraska the daughter of Clyde and Mabel (Wickicer) Dunham.

As a child, Marilyn lived with her grandparents near Juanita, Nebraska and attended school there.  She later moved to Satanta to help her brother.  While working at the cafe, she met George McIver.  The two were married on July 2, 1960 in Satanta.  The newly married couple made their home on a farm north of Satanta.  In 1964, they moved to Sublette.  Marilyn cleaned houses and babysat for various families in Sublette.  Her primary job was being a wife and mother to three wonderful girls. In 2004, Marilyn made the move to Garden City.

Marilyn attended Sublette Christian Church and Cornerstone Church in Garden City.  She loved to watch praise and worship programs daily.  Marilyn read her Bible daily and her relationship with God was very important to her.

Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Jeanette K. McPherson and Clara S. Walker and husband Rusty all of Garden City; four grandchildren, Sarah Sloniger of Salina, Scott Walker of Salina, Zachary Walker of Tecumseh, and Ashley Blanchard of Garden City; and five great grandchildren, Kyle and Aaron Sloniger of Oskaloosa and Cayden, Brayden, and Kelsei Walker of Salina.  She is preceded in death by her husband, George; a daughter, Sarah McIver; her parents; and two brothers, Lyle and Joe Dunham.

Funeral service will be held at Cornerstone Church in Garden City on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Raul Sylva presiding. Burial will follow at Haskell County Cemetery, Sublette.  Visitation will be at the church on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 10:00 AM until service time.  Memorials are suggested to Cornerstone Church in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel - PO Box 607 - Sublette, Kansas 67867 .  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com .
