Obituary

Marjorie Mary Hefner, 88, died January 13, 2012 at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. She was born on July 24, 1923 in Leola, South Dakota, the daughter of Carl and Josephine (Grabowska) Lapka.

Marjorie married Marshall Lane Hefner on May 5, 1980 in Golden Colorado. They moved to Dodge City in 1980.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City.

Majorie is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, Gerald Leicht of West Virginia and Allen Leicht of Colorado; one daughter, Sharon Taylor of Colorado; one step-son, Wes Hefner of Kansas; six grandchilren; seven step-grandchilren; nine great-grandchildren; and 18 step-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial mass will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Inurnment will be at a later date in Colorado. There is no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Society in care of Swaim Funeral Home-1901 Sixth Ave-Dodge City, KS 67801.
