Obituary

Ensign - Mark Carter, 66, died June 1, 2021 at his home in Bloom.  He was born on April 7, 1955 in Wiesbaden, Germany, the son of Wilmer "Will" V. and Jacqueline "Jackie" (Jehle) Carter.

Shortly after Mark was born, the family moved from the military base in Germany to Riverside, California where he spent most of his childhood. Mark began his work career at an early age in an auto body shop as a body and paint repair specialist. In 1978, the family moved to Ensign, where he worked for his dad at Carter Country.  Mark was an accomplished musician; known to most as "The Earthman". He played the guitar and sang around the United States.  In 2006, he was able to record an album. Mark enjoyed his family, sharing his love of music with them and inspiring others to pursue music.

Mark is survived by three children; Alex Mandeville of Enid, Oklahoma, Marshall Carter and wife Shannon of Harrisonville, Missouri, and David Carter of Enid; six grandchildren, Draven, Kayden, Khloe, Taryn, and Corben Mandeville and Marek Carter; a brother, David Carter of Grand Island, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews; and his spiritual sons, James Hensley and Josaiah Kremeier.
