Dodge City - Mary A. Ervin, 96, died peacefully at her home on November 12, 2017 in Dodge City.  She was born on March 12, 1921 at Kinsley, the daughter of Howard and Faith (Riney) Puckett.

Mary grew up in Jetmore and was a graduate of Jetmore High School.  She then attended University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Waco, Texas. On January 9, 1942 she married Robert A. Ervin, Jr. at Mart, Texas.  Mary was the president of Sunflower Telephone Company and Jetmore Telephone Company.

She was a member of the St. Cornelius Episcopal Church of Dodge City and the Dodge City Chapter of D.A.R. and P.E.O.

Mary is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jane Ervin of Dodge City and her beloved cat, Kitzi.

Graveside memorial service will be held at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore on Friday November 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Rev. John Seatvet presiding.  There will be no public visitation but friends may sign the guest book on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Swaim Funeral Chapel.
