MARY RUTH HAYES

Dodge City - Mary Ruth Hayes, 83, died March 30, 2013 at Good Samaritan Center, Dodge City. She was born on September 5, 1929 at Hanston, Kansas, the daughter of John and Alma (Gulick) Hoffman.

She married William Hayes on April 1, 1948 at the First Baptist Church, Dodge City. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2002. She was a homemaker. She also worked in the school lunch room, and for several years was employed with Montgomery Ward and Safeway.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Tiny Tots Sunday School classes for thirty two years. She was also a member of the ABW and Circle Four.

Survivors include one daughter, Pearl Crowe and husband Toby, Frederick, Colorado; two sons William Hayes and wife Cathy, Loveland, Colorado; Aaron Hayes, Dodge City, one sister Grace Miller, Larned, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.

Graveside services will be held at Hanston Cemetery, Hanston, Kansas on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Dr. Gary Winget presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 12:00 PM til 5:00 PM. with family receiving friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
