Mary Joan "Jo" (Watts) Hink, 85, of Dodge City, Kansas, passed away on February 17th, 2016, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City, her son and daughter at her side.
Jo was born in Wellington, Kansas, on March 27th, 1930. She graduated from Wellington High School as a part of the Class of 1948, of which she had many friends and fond memories.
During her lifetime, Jo had several jobs, including Boeing Aircraft Corporation in Wichita, KS and Seattle, WA; and was an agent for American Family Insurance in Dodge City. She was a full-time caretaker of her husband, Kenneth G. Hink, for many years until his death in 2012. Jo's greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends, especially at Lake Arrowhead near Medicine Lodge.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth G. Hink, and parents, Leta Marie (Jones) and Russell Gaddie.
Jo is survived her daughter, Jan (Watts) Eckles, Wichita; son, Jon Watts and wife Pam, grandchildren Eric and Lindsay Watts; great grandchildren Ethan, Colby and Annabelle Watts and Tyson Gonzales, all of Marysville, WA. Survivors also include step-children Fred Hink, Moab, UT; and Karen (Hink) Moniher, Kansas City, MO.
A graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, KS, 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2016, with Rev. Randall Jahnke, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, presiding. Immediately following, friends are invited to a luncheon at the church located at 2200 3rd Ave.
The family suggests memorials to Meals on Wheels of Dodge City, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or the donor's choice in care of Swaim Funeral Home, 1901 6th Avenue, Dodge City, KS 67801.
