Obituary
Wichita - Mary Louise Rumsey, 87, died January 2, 2011 at Lake Point Nursing Center, Wichita. She was born on December 22, 1923 at Dodge City the daughter of Herschel and Ola (Piper) Cook.
Louise attended Dodge City schools and later received an education degree. She was a prolific math teacher and friend to many teachers and hundreds of students in schools in Ensign and Dodge City for over fourty years. Mary Louise was a gentle and incredibly good wife, mother and "Cook". Cook was her maiden name and she was incredibly talented in the kitchen.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dodge City.
She is survived by her husband Marion Rumsey of Wichita;two sons, Roger and wife Juanita Rumsey and Robert and wife Karen Rumsey both of Wichita;her grandchildren, Matthew Rumsey,Nathan and wife Sarah Rumsey, Sarah and husband Scott Ruud, and Rachel and husband Matt Ross;and her great grandchildren, Owen and Maya Rumsey, Shal and Skylin Ruud.
Private graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
