Obituary
BUCKLIN - Mary Ann Simmons, 80, died February 19, 2012 at the Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita. She was born on November 18, 1931 at Dodge City, the daughter of Raymond W. and Ferne Daphne (Kimes) Schmehr.
On October 3, 1950 she married Melvin Allen Simmons at Spearville. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2003. Mrs. Simmons placed her family first especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary and the Bucklin Senior Center.
Mary Ann is survived by a son, Allen Simmons and wife Kathie of Dodge City; two daughters, Gena Kirk and husband Todd of Bucklin and Lee Ann Vaughn and husband Bob of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four brothers, Bob, George, Bill, and Dwight; a sister, Carol Jean Hernandez; five grandchildren, Terah, Stephanie, Max, Tawnya and Shea and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Joan Fleming.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 10:30 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Kansas Heart Hospital or Howard Gotschall Post #1714, V.F.W. both in care of the funeral home.
