Maxine Mae Green, 81, died Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home in Dodge City. She was born on May 31, 1928 in Medicine Lodge, the daughter of Clifford and Leona (Wren) Phye.

Maxine was raised in Medicine Lodge and attended school there. She married Howard Green on May 30, 1944. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2003. Maxine was a bus driver for the Medicine Lodge School System for about 5 years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and needle work of various kinds.

Maxine is survived by one daughter, Connie Heskamp and husband Jeff of Spearville; one son, Tom Green and wife Amy of Roanoke, Texas; five grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica Green both of Roanoke, Texas; and Lindsey, Luke, and Alissa Heskamp all of Spearville. In addition to her husband, Howard, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service will be held at Parkview Manor in Spearville on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ted Stoecklein and Deacon Dwaine Lampe presiding. Burial will be at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in South Branch, Michigan. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Friday, March 26, 2010.
