Mearlene Ankrom, 80, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Minneola District Hospital at Minneola. She was born on October 17, 1929 at Wellington, TX the daughter of Mearl and Artie (Clarkston) Brunson.

She worked for Garden National Bank in the public relations department in Garden City for 20 years. She loved deeply and cared compassionately and lived her life to the best of her ability.



Survivors include her mother Artie Brunson of Garden City,her companion Dave Eslick of Kingsdown, two sons Michael Carr and Dallas Carr both of Kingsdown, two daughters Vickie Davis of Oklahoma,and Jennifer Coyne of Lindsborg,a sister Alene Herrman of Liberal,and a brother Roger Brunson of Garden City.
She was also survived by six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and two husbands CW Carr and Roy Ankrom and granddaughter Jaime Carr.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City, KS. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials can be made to Mearlene Ankrom Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
