Mereta "Mert" Stone, 90, passed away on July 20, 2026, at Brookdale in Dodge City. She was born on December 6, 1935 in Tribune, KS, to Merle and Margaret (Jones) Morgan.

Mert attended and graduated from Tribune schools. She started her career as a type setter for The Daily Globe then went on to work at the Family Crisis Center. She also worked at Cimarron Insurance for a while and finished off working as a reflexologist. She enjoyed staying home and reading. She was the oldest in her Curves exercise group which she enjoyed being a part of.

She is survived by her children, Mona Warren (fiancé, John Thomas) and Lance Stone; grandchildren, Eric (Tena) Quintero, Miranda Schwartz, Andrea (Bruce) Redenbach, and Jeremey (Michelle) Mercado; great grandchildren, Brooke and Bodey Redenbach, Taylor (Sean) Urban, Paige and Jaxon Schwartz, Julisa, Mariah, and Taylia Mata, Braden, Corbin, and Carter Quintero; great-great grandchildren, Evie and Rinley Urban. She is preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Margaret Morgan; her husband, Clyde Stone; daughter, Vicki Mercado; grandchildren, Justin Mercado and Krystal Quintero; and a great grandson, Cooper Quintero.

The Funeral Service for Mert will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 10:00AM at the First Christian Church. Burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. There will be no visitation.
