Michael Scott Fischer, 52, died Monday, May 11, 2009 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born on August 11, 1956 at Dodge City the son of Millard and O. Gaye (Harman) Fischer.

Mr. Fischer enjoyed cooking, music, being with friends and life in general.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby (Harrison) Fischer of Wright; daughter, Angela Miller and husband Roger of Bedford, Texas; son, Dustin Fischer and fiance Tammi of Dodge City; sister, Kim Snyder and fiance Dave of Dodge City; stepson, Kelly Burkhart of Dodge City; and four grandchildren, Kaely, Ashley, Cody, and Bryce. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 10:00 AM with The Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Swaim Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to American Heart Association or Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.
