Dodge City – Michael A.  (Mike) Kortz, 52, died January 28, 2018 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on April 28, 1965 at Dodge City the son of  Bill and Vicki (LaCroix) Kortz.

Mike was a lifelong resident of Dodge City, graduating from Dodge City High School and attending Dodge City Community College. He worked as a welder for several manufacturing companies in the Dodge City area. Mike enjoyed throwing pottery as well as fishing and cooking in his spare time. He also had a love for music working with many bands in the area. Mike's greatest love was for his family, who he really enjoyed spending time with when he could.

He is survived by his mother Vicki Strawn of Sharon Springs, Kansas; sister Lisa Walker and husband Dowell; brother Scott Kortz and wife Becky all of Sharon Springs, Kansas. Mike is also survived by long time companion Pam Luce of Dodge City; half sister Renee Kortz of Garden City and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Bill Kortz.
