Dodge City - Mike Morgison, 70, died November 29, 2022 at Sun Porch of Dodge City, Dodge City.  He was born on March 8, 1952 at Dodge City, the son of Virgil Pat and Olive C. (Owston) Morgison.

Mike grew up in Dodge City and was a 1970 graduate of Dodge City Senior High School. He then graduated from Dodge City Community College with an Associates of Arts Degree and in 1982 graduated from Ft. Hays University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

He worked for his parent's business Dodge City Sand and Water Sports Campground from 1968 to 1982. He spent two years in Wichita as a rental equipment manager for Berry Tractor/White Star. Mike moved back to Garden City where he has resided for the last 32 years.  He was a construction superintendent for JAG Construction until he retired in 2020.

Mike was a member of the Elks Lodge of Garden City.

He is survived by his sister, Patty Brandenburg and husband Eldon of Dodge City; a brother, Bill Morgison and wife Gloria of Gravoise Mills, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and other family. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Pat and Olive Morgison.

Memorial service will be held at Dodge City Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 10:30 AM with Jeff Hiers presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. There will be a book signing from Noon to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Swaim Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
