Obituary

DODGE CITY - Mildred Marie "Mickey" Duncan, 82, died May 4, 2013 at her daughters home in Amarillo, Texas. She was born on September 19, 1930 at Dodge City the daughter of Harman Harris and Ada (McDaniel) Elder.

On June 19, 1958 she married Maynard Duncan at Clayton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on January 17, 1995. Mickey was the bookkeeper for Brady Implement for 26 years. She also worked at Bank of the Southwest for five years before retiring in 1995. She was an active member in the Moose Lodge of Dodge City, serving as an officer. Mrs. Duncan served as Deputy Grand Regent for the State of Kansas and also served at the International level on the Academy of Friendship Board of the Loyal Order of Moose. Mildred was a volunteer with the Salvation Army working in the Thrift Store.

She was a member of the Wilroads Gardens Christian Church, Loyal Order of Moose #1187, St. Bernard Chapter #97 Order of Eastern Star, D.A.R., and American Legion Auxiliary all of Dodge City.

Mrs. Duncan is survived by a son, Steve Duncan and wife Janney of Topeka; a daughter, Carol Duncan Sanders and husband Henry of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter Sandy Lorei and husband Gary of Wichita; brother, Robert Elder and wife Alice of Dodge City; a sister, Carol Thomas of Wichita; sister-in-law Jean Rowton of Scott City; five grandchildren, Breann Sullivan, Beau Duncan, and Chen Duncan all of Topeka; Patrick Skinner, and Rachael Lorei, all of Wichita and a great grandson Caden Sullivan of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Fred, Bud, and Herschel; and two sisters, Josephine and Wanetta, and brother-in-law Floyd Thomas.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Moose Heart, in care of the funeral home.
