Dodge City - Monica Lynn Velasquez, 37, died May 19, 2022 at Wichita, KS. She was born on August 26, 1984 at Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Antonio Velasquez and Oralia Barajas
Monica was a High School graduate and worked in security for Cargill. She loved music and loved to sing and dance. She always wanted to have fun and be happy. She was married to Oved Hernandez. They raised three children together, whom she loved very much. She cared a lot for others and was good at checking up on those she cared about. Monica wanted to travel around the world and wanted to explore new things. She always talked about wanting to go to different places. She was always up to do fun things. She was optimistic about many things in her life. She looked forward to the good things and wanted to become better every day. She was a strong woman.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.
Monica is survived by her husband, Oved Armando Hernandez; five children, Joe Kraus, Cristina Koerner, Adriel Hernandez, Eden Hernandez, and Alexa Hernandez; her father; and many extended family and friends. Monica is preceded in death by her mother; and daughter, Yesenia Lupita Leos.
Funeral service will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Noon with Fr. Rudin Din presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Wednesday May 25, 2022 from Noon to 8:00 PM with vigil at 7:00 PM. Ella se graudo de la High School y trabajaba en seguridad para Cargill. Mónica amaba la música. Le encantaba cantar y bailar. Ella siempre quiso divertirse y ser feliz. Estaba casada con Oved Hernández. Juntos criaron a tres hijos, a quienes ella amaba mucho. Se preocupaba mucho por los demás y era buena amiga. Ella era optimista sobre muchas cosas en su vida. Esperaba las cosas buenas y deseaba ser mejor cada día. Ella era una mujer muy fuerte.
Ella era miembro de la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.
Monica es sobrevivida por su esposo, Oved Armando Hernandez; cinco hijos, Joe Kraus, Cristina Koerner, Adriel Hernandez, Eden Hernandez, y Alexa Hernandez; su padre, y mucha familia y amigos. Es precedida por su madre; y su hija, Yesenia Lupita Leos.
La misa funebre sera en la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe el Jueves, 26 de Mayo del 2022 a las 12:00 PM con el Padre Rudin Din presidiendo. El entierro sigue despues de la misa en Maple Grove Cemetery en Dodge City. La visitacion sera el Miercoles, 25 de Mayo del 2022 en la funeraria de 12:00 PM a 8:00 PM con el Rosario a las 7:00 PM.
