Dodge City - Myrna Faye Austin, 86, died January 22, 2014 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home in Dodge City. She was born on January 12, 1928 at Kingsdown, the daughter of Ray Edward and Florence (Winsor) Vanatta.

Myrna graduated from Kingsdown High School in 1946. She married Lloyd J. Logan on September 21, 1945 in Dodge City. They later divorced. In January of 1948, she began attending Wilcox Beauty School and then worked as a beautician for many years. She was the owner of Myrna's Beauty Shop. Myrna married William "Charles" Austin on October 30, 1951 in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2004. Myrna loved her family and was always there to help when needed.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church of Kingsdown and attended the First Missionary Church in Dodge City.

Myrna is survived by one son, James Austin and wife Vicki of Dodge City; three daughters, Linda Logan and husband Ken Bednar of Bloomington, MN, Terrie S. Austin of Dodge City, Nancy L. Hamilton and husband Terry of Dodge City; grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Brooke, Lori, Jeremy, Chris, Keysha, Kamry, Keenan, Kordell, Shelby, Katie, Nicholas, Alex, Sierra, Taggart, Kiffany, Kari, Tristin, Kamden.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Jeff Turner presiding. Burial will follow at Bucklin Cemetery in Bucklin. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 12:00 - 6:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Manor Nursing Home Alzheimer's Unit in care of the funeral home.
