Obituary

Dodge City - Nadine M. Blackburn, 72, died September 14, 2013 at Western Plains Medical Complex , Dodge City. She was born on September 11, 1941 at Fowler, KS the daughter of Sebastian and Beatrice (Lampe) Frank.

She married Raymond L. Blackburn on October 7, 1961at Dodge City, he preceded her in death on February 11, 1993. Mrs. Blackburn was a avid reader and enjoyed bowling, crocheting,and spending time with her family. She worked as a CNA and med aide at the Kansas Soldiers Home at Ft. Dodge.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.

She is survived by three sons Preston Samuel "Bud" Blackburn of Dodge City; Quinten Ray Blackburn of Minneola; Steven Gene Blackburn of Dodge City; one daughter Tasha Fields of Cimarron and three sisters Noreen Herbert of Dodge City; Kathy Burrows and husband Harlan of Lakin; Marilyn Price of Topeka and one brother Bill Frank and wife Becky of Bucklin. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond L. Blackburn and a son Joseph Dwaine Blackburn and her parents.

Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. A Vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Memorials are suggested to Ford County EMS in care of the funeral home.
