Nancy Jane McLeod, 77, died January 5, 2012 at Hill Top House in Bucklin. She was born on March 20, 1934 in Dodge City, the daughter of Lewis and Beulah (Davenport) Miller.
On March 9, 1952, Nancy married Guy McLeod in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1985. Nancy worked at Trinity Manor in Dodge City and Hill Top House in Bucklin as the dietary manager. She enjoyed reading, ceramics, traveling, and being with her grandchildren. Nancy also loved reminiscing about the old days, fishing, and camping.
She was a member of the First Church of God and the Women's Group at First Church of God, both of Dodge City.
Nancy is survived by one son, Guy "Randy" McLeod and wife Deborah of Wichita; one daughter, Diane Hapner and husband Rex E. "Buster" of Bucklin; one brother, Charles Miller of Tucumcari, New Mexico; one sister, Elaine Miller of McPherson; seven granchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Guy, she is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers, and one great grandson.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Darrell Hendrickson presiding. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, January 6, 2012 from noon to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
