Dodge City - Nathaniel E. "The Man" Batson, 82, died May 21, 2020 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home in Dodge City.  He was born on July 26, 1937 in Oklahoma the son of Frank and Joann Batson.

He worked in the maintenance department at both National and Cargill beef packing plants in Dodge City. Mr. Batson loved to play miniature golf, go shopping and watch L.A. Lakers Basketball games in his spare time. He was also known for all of the practical jokes he loved to pull on people.

He is survived by his wife Geneva of Dodge City; one daughter Juanita Collins of Kansas City, Missouri; three sons Reginald Smith and wife Sandy of Detroit, Michigan; Martin Smith of Dodge City and Fred Wilson of Dodge City and one sister Odessa of Oklahoma. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Herbert Smith, one brother Frank Batson and his sister Betty.
