IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Neva Louise
Koehn
July 9, 1931 – November 10, 2019
Montezuma -Neva Louise Eicher was born on July 9, 1931 to Frank and Hannah Gearig Eicher, at Alma, Michigan. She quietly passed away on November 10, 2019 in her room at Bethel Home in Montezuma, in the evening hours, reaching the age of eighty-eight years.
Mom grew up on a farm close to Ithaca, Michigan, receiving her formal education in a one room schoolhouse a mile south of home. She was baptized as a young teenager into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite at Ithaca, Michigan. She remained faithful unto the end.
She was married to me, LeRoy Koehn on October 12, 1958.Two sons and two daughters were born to this union. We enjoyed just over 61 years of happily married life. Mom was a lady of quiet disposition. She enjoyed nothing more than baking kolaches and cinnamon rolls for people at the bakery in Hillje, Texas, where she worked nights for many years. Mom was at her happiest baking and taking care of people. Due to health complications, we moved to Bethel Home in the summer of 2014. Mom received loving care there until her passing.
Leaving us to mourn her passing are her husband, LeRoy of Ingalls; sons Leonard and Carol Koehn of Scotia, Nebraska and Doug and Starla Koehn of Goltry, Oklahoma; daughters Karen and Lance Koehn of Pryor, Oklahoma and Marci and Layne Nichols of Hardin, Montana; brother, Verle Eicher of Montezuma; sister Janice and Lee Koehn of Faunsdale, Alabama; fifteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, one sister-in-law, and three brothers-in-law.
Funeral service will be held at Salem Mennonite Church, Copeland on Thursday November 14, 2019 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Salem Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Montezuma on Wednesday November 13, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Bethel Home in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
