Obituary

Satanta - Nora Rollins, 72, died August 28, 2025 at Satanta District Hospital.  She was born on January 25, 1953 at Warwick, Virginia, the daughter of  Ellis Raymond and Geraldine Margaret (Worden) Weidenhammer.

Nora spent her early years in Davison, Michigan.  The family moved to various Army bases throughout the United States.  Nora later moved to Kansas City to work and while there, she met Jeff Rollins.  They were united in marriage on November 15, 1980 at his parents' home in Satanta. The couple made their home in Satanta where they opened their doors to numerous foster children and foreign exchange students.

She worked for USD 507 and 371 as a bus driver.  Later she worked for the railroad in Satanta.  Nora was known for her "made from scratch" cooking, especially her cookies.  She was always a favorite bus driver because she often brought along her homemade cookies for the ride and for her end of the year water gun escapade..

Nora is survived by her husband, Jeff of Satanta; five daughters, Tonya Fisher and husband Ryon of Sublette, Ana Caroline Aguilar Baker and husband Paul of Grande Baie Riviere Du Rampart, Mauritius, Amanda Del Angel and husband Javier of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Esperauza Hernandez of Garden City, and Janet Visoso of Dodge City; numerous grandchildren; four brothers, Raymond Weidenhammer and wife Sue, Chuck Weidenhammer and wife Carrie, Bobby Weidenhammer, and Steve Weidenhammer all of Michigan; a sister, Judy Tripp and husband Roger also of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Nora's Life will be held at the Haskell County Fairgrounds Commercial Building, Sublette, on Saturday, October 11, 2025 beginning with a lunch to be served at noon.  There is no visitation as cremation has taken place.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
