Dodge City - Norma (Ridgway) Avritt, Wishon, 78, died December 18, 2023 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on November 8, 1945 at Dodge City the daughter of Harmon and Wilma (Jones) Ridgway.

She worked at Walmart and the Ford County Sheriff's Office for several years and later went to work for Manor of The Plains as a receptionist. Mrs. Wishon loved spending time with her family and playing games with them every chance she could get. She loved spending time with her dogs and watching old movies and traveling in her spare time. Norma loved being a mother to her three children and was a excellent cook. She also loved listening to Willie Nelson, Marty Robins and Johnny Rodriguez in her spare time as well.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge and Order of Eastern Star Lodge all of Dodge City..

She is survived by one daughter Peggy Cecil of Dodge City; two sons Richard Avritt and wife Dianne Austin of Dodge City; Scott Avritt of Dodge City; three brothers Dr. Bob Ridgway of Florida; Ivan Ridgway of Ozawkie, Kansas and Raymond Ridgway of Dodge City. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobbie Wishon and son-in-law Randy Cecil.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday December 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM with Mr. Jeff  Hiers presiding. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Friendship Feast or National Kidney Association in care of the funeral home.
