Cimarron - Norma G. Martinez, 71, died February 22, 2023 at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron. She was born on August 16, 1951 in Corpus Christi, Texas the daughter of Jose and Maria (Garcia) Salinas.
Her early childhood was spent in Bishop, Texas. From there, the family moved to Oregon before moving back to Hillsboro, Texas. Norma married Eddie Martinez, Sr. Together they raised their family of three in Corpus Christi, Texas. Norma took great pride in caring for her husband and children. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Norma moved to Kansas to be closer to family. She had been a resident of The Shepherd's Center nursing home in Cimarron where she lovingly cared for by the staff.
Norma is survived by three children, Melissa Jacobi of Atlantic City, New Jersey, Eddie Martinez and wife Jennifer of Montezuma, and Rudy Martinez and wife Geneva of Corpus Christi, Texas; four brothers, Hector Salinas of Victoria, Texas, Fernando Salinas of Beeville, Texas, Joe Salinas of Calallen, Texas, and Chevy Salinas of Danbury, Texas; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie; and two sisters, Diana Balderas, and Sandy Daughtery.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on March 20, 2023 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. Inurnment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Coprus Christi, Texas. There is no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel – 1901 Sixth Ave. – Dodge City, KS 67801.
