Dodge City - Norma Jean (Newell) Bradfield-Schoen, 92, died October 27, 2018 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City.  She was born on January 14, 1926 on a farm south of Dodge City to Hardin H. and Blanche M. (Durham) Newell.

Norma Jean attended South Hopewell school in Ford County and was a 1943 graduate of Dodge City Senior High School. She then attended Dodge City Community College in the summer taking teaching courses. Norma Jean taught at South Hopewell for the 1943 - 1944 school year and the following year taught at Richland Valley school. In 1945 she was offered a summer job at First National Bank in Dodge City that turned into a full time career. Norma Jean worked there for over 42 years and retired from First National Bank as a Vice President in 1987.

On August 31, 1946 she married Jack Bradfield in Dodge City, he preceded her in death on March 6, 1982, She later married Alfred H. Schoen on March 9, 1984. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2004.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dodge City, National Association of Bank Women, Moose Lodge and Soroptimist International both of Dodge City.

Norma Jean is survived by a brother, Robert H. Newell and wife Phyllis of Dodge City; several nieces and nephews including Lane Newell and Lynn and Rodney Sutton both of Dodge City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Jack Bradfield and Alfred Schoen; and three sisters, Elsie Newell, Mildred Kastler and Frances Gum.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Wednesday October 31, 2018 at 11:00AM with Rev. Jerre Nolte presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday October 30, 2018 from1:00 to 8:00 PM.
