Oleta Irene Hall, 94, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. She was born on April 10, 1915 at Cassoday, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest and Anna Laurie (Voorhees) Blackmore.
She married Donald Raymond Hall on May 9, 1934 in El Dorado, Kansas, he preceded her in death on April 18, 1985. Mrs. Hall worked for the Larned State Hospital as a Mental Health Tech for 27 years. She later worked for Walmart in Great Bend and Dodge City as a greeter, until her retirement in 1995. She was preceded in death by a son Donald Raymond Hall, and a grandaughter, and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include two daughters Sharron and husband Don Raney of Dodge City and Vicki and husband Robert King of Camdenton, Missouri; one son Tim Hall and wife Rhonda of Austin, Kentucky, and one brother Donald and wife Mary Lee Blackmore of California. She also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Donald Raymond Hall, a grandaughter, three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Gary Winget presiding. Burial will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday at Larned Cemetery in Larned, KS. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, June 15, 2009 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials can be made to American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
