Ensign – Patricia Ann Hammond, 69, died August 9, 2023 at Minneola Hospital in Minneola, Kansas. She was born on August 5, 1954 at Ulysses, Kansas the daughter of Clinton and Elsie (Ballinger) Hammond.

Patricia attended elementary school and high school in Johnson, Kansas. She enjoyed her growing up years with her relatives. Holidays and Sundays at Grandma B's she would reminess quite often of these days. Patricia birthdays were often celebrated in her younger years with cousins and a loved aunt who's birthday was a couple of days after hers.

She attended Dodge City Community College majoring in Stable Management then changed her major to Nursing. She was a LPN for 42 years before retiring. She dearly loved her nursing career and worked as a Hospice nurse in Texas which she found very rewarding. She married Gary Roberts in 1971 and they later divorced. She loved to go on vacations with her family and was always up for a Skiing trip, White Water Rafting, Rodeo, Livestock Show, Softball game or Wrestling match.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived three daughters Bobbie Jo Williams Besser and husband Troy of Lyons; Krista Roberts of Dodge City; Janet Mentzer and husband Toby of Ensign; one son Trent Roberts of Delta, Colorado and one sister Delores Toole and husband Ronald of Manter, Kansas and one brother Dennis Hammond and wife Ann of Fruita, Colorado. She is also survived by her grandchildren Cody Williams, Peyton Evelena Jayne Northcutt Mentzer, Taeler Roberts, Clinton Roberts, Lane Hunsberger, Shaelyn Hunsberger, Jared Roberts and Kaden Besser, Alex Phelps. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Rose, Denali and Kendra. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She is also survived by her fury grandchildren Heidi, Poncho, Cooter Brown, Rider, April and SS.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clinton and Elsie Hammond and her grandparents and one granddaughter Emily M. Northcutt.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM with Mr. Darrin Hammond presiding.  Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
