Dodge City - Patricia "Patty" Schiffelbein, 57, died August 8, 2011 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born on October 21, 1953 at Killeen, TX the daughter of Norman and Margaret (Klaus) Becker. She grew up in Garden City and attended schools in Garden City and graduated from Garden City High School in 1971 and then graduated from Garden City Community College.
She married Raymond "Glen" Schiffelbein on July 21, 2006 at Golden, Colorado. Patty was a marketing assistant for Farm Bureau Insurance for nine years and then a complex manager for Northbrier/Woodland Hills Apartments for six years both of Dodge City.
She was a member of Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City.
Patty is survived by her husband, Raymond "Glen" Schiffelbein of Dodge City; five daughters, Angela Clarke of Jetmore, Tricia Sawyer of Attica, Jamie Swanson and husband Doug of Bennington, Jennifer Lapp and husband Mike of Anthony, and Cassandra Smith and husband Paul of Dodge City; one son, William Tresner and wife Kristin of Westminister, Colorado; four brothers, Bill Becker of Garden City, Robert Becker and wife Janelle of Garden City, James Becker and wife Christine of Garden City, and David Becker and wife Lynette of Garden City; four sisters, Elizabeth Fine of Garden City, Wanda Marquez and husband Mike of Coventry, Rhode Island, Kathy Goad and husband Jeff of Great Bend, and Donna Mastin and husband Danny of Garden City; father-in-law, Ray "Whitey" Schiffelbein of Garden City; and 15 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Vigil Service will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 11, 2011. Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Guadalupe on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Ted Skalsky celebrating. Cremation will follow after the mass. Visitation will be from Noon to 5:00 P.M. on Thursday August 11, 2011at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City. Memorials are suggested to Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe or to the Dominican Sisters, both in care of the funeral home.
