Patty Phillips Lampe, age 87, passed away at Manor of the Plains on June 29, 2026. Born on February 20, 1939, in Arkansas City, Ks to George and Cleo Beth (Laird) Phillips.
As a young girl, her family moved to Cimarron, KS where she attended school and graduated from Cimarron High School in 1957. On September 19, 1959, she married the love of her life, Darlow Lampe at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dodge City. Born to this union were 5 children. She was a full-time mom and was very active in her children's lives volunteering for everything that was needed as they attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Ness City, KS.
She was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. John's Catholic Church Spearville. Patty lived a beautiful life, one stitch at a time. Guided by her deep catholic faith, she lovingly shared her gifts through the hundreds of hand stitched quilts she created for family and friends.
Survivors include 4 sons: Kelly (Barb) Lampe of Davenport, NE; Kent (Becky) Lampe and Kurt (Nadine) Lampe, Dodge City, KS and Darlow Anthony (Michelle) Lampe of Spearville, KS. And 1 daughter: Kerry (Rod) Ackerman of Brewster, Ks. A Sister, Nita (Max) Davidson of Cimarron, KS. 12 Grandchildren: Brian Lampe and Brandon Lampe of Dodge City, KS; Dawn (Scott) Burke of Spearville, KS; Dustin (Jessica) Lampe of Dodge City, KS; Justin (Krissy) Lampe of Dodge City; Jory Lampe (Gabby Figueroa) of Dodge City, Ks; Austin Lampe of Balko, OK; Cory (Sierra) Lampe of Ogallah, KS; Jessica (Greg) Bradford of Minneola, KS; Kyle (Shauna) Ackerman of LaCygne, KS; Tarah (Jason) Krayca of Goodland, KS; Caden (Megan) Ackerman of Little River, KS; 15 Great Grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two sisters, Lois McVey and Doris Denton.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Spearville, Kansas with a burial to follow at St. John's Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Dodge City. A Vigil Service will be at 7:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Spearville.
If you were blessed with one of Patty's quilts, the family requests you bring it to the Vigil Service and place it over the pew in front or back of you.
