FT. DODGE - Paul Edward "Buddy" Piper, Jr., 55, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at his residence in Ft. Dodge. He was born on May 21, 1955 at Dodge City, the son of Paul Edward and Marie (Wasson) Piper, Sr. He grew up in Dodge City and attended schools in Dodge City. Buddy served in the U.S. Army for a few years. He then worked in various jobs in several states before coming to Ft. Dodge. Buddy attended the Baptist church.

Survivors include two brothers, Fred Piper of Garden City and Gary Piper of Wichita; two sisters, Donna Hernandez of Deerfield, and Karen Wegner of Ft. Mohave, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside memorial services will be Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Vernon Bogart officiating at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Dodge. Military Graveside rites will be conducted by Howard Gotschall Post #1714, V.F.W.. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kansas Soldiers Home at Ft. Dodge in care of the funeral home.
