Satanta - Paul R. Collins, Sr., 80, died May 14, 2013 at Satanta District Hospital, Satanta. He was born on September 30, 1932 at Willow Springs, Missouri, the son of Lum and Nellie (Moore) Collins.
Paul moved from Willow Springs, Missouri to Oklahoma as a small child. He attended schools in Cleveland and Bristow Oklahoma. Later, Paul moved to Texas. On April 6, 1951, he married Margaret Wyas in West Plains, Missouri. She survives. They moved to Satanta in 1963. Paul was a welder for the Jayhawk Helium plant for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren.
He was a member of the Pleasant Prairie Church of God of Satanta.
In addition to his wife, Margaret, Paul is survived by two sons, Sonnie Collins and wife Marge of Satanta and Ted Collins and wife Lowana of Gainsville, Missouri; one sister, Martha Burke of Marshall, Texas; one brother, Jr. Collins of Cleveland, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Angie Lee, Nikki Pearson, Michael Collins, Mark Collins, Brandon Ellison, Michael Ellison, and T.J. Collins; and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son, Ricky Collins; his parents; and three brothers, Raymond, Mark, and Ivan Collins.
Funeral service will be held at Pleasant Prairie Church of God, Satanta, on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Danny Jackson presiding. Burial will follow at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Sublette on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from noon to 8:00 PM.
