Montezuma - Pearl Schmidt, 91, Montezuma, Kansas and former Clarksdale Mississippi resident, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Bethel Home in Monteuzma.

The daughter of Reuben P. and Mary (Koehn) Unruh, she was born on March 23, 1921, at Canton, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Harvey Schmidt of Chickasha, Oklahoma, on March 21, 1945, in Copeland. She was a homemaker, caring well for her family, and was a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. In July of 2004, she moved from Clarksdale, Mississippi to Bethel Home in Montezuma.

Mrs. Schmidt is survived by three sons: Verle Schmidta and wife Diana, Dale Schmidt and wife Sharon, and Jerry Schmidt and wife Kris; one daughter Jane and husband Richard Schmidt, all of Clarksdale, Mississippi; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Clarksdale Mennonite Church Clarksdale Mississippi on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 10:30 AM with burial following at the Clarksdale Mennonite Church Cemetery. Visitation and sharing of memories was held at Bethel Home in Montezuma on Sunday, August 12, 2012. Swaim Funeral Chapel of Montezuma was in charge of local arrangements.
