Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peggy Cook, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 13, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on September 12, 1949, in Springfield, Colorado to Milton and Marie (Murphy) Frazee., Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her compassion, unwavering faith, and loving spirit.

Peggy grew up in Southwest Kansas and Southeast Colorado and graduated from Walsh High School. She then attended Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma. Peggy married Ernie Cook on September 1, 1969 in Walsh, Colorado. She started her career as a Para at Walsh Schools and also drove a bus for over 25 years. Peggy also worked as a para at several schools as they moved and finished her career as a para at Bright Beginnings in Dodge City.

Her family was always her primary role, as mother and homemaker to her husband and four sons. She enjoyed attending her sons activities throughout the years and later her grandchildren's activities. Peggy enjoyed keeping up with family and friends through social media. She was very devoted to her church, reading her bible, and listening to 89.1 christian radio station.

Peggy was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Dodge City.

Peggy is survived by her Husband Ernie Cook of Cimarron; Three Sons, Dustin Cook of Cimarron; Brant Cook of Cimarron, and Jaron Cook & wife Laura of Pierre, South Dakota; Brother, Curtis Frazee of Canyon, Texas; Daughter-in-law, Megan Lightner & husband Matt of Scott City; and her 16 grandchildren, Morgan, Owen, Calvin and Aron Cook, Jonathan and Harmony Cook, Kelton, Brendan, Brailey and Kambry Cook and Jack, Lily, Abby, Eli, Zeke, and Kate Lightner. She was preceded in death by her parents Son, Clete Cook; Brother, Ken Frazee; and Sister, Sheri Victory.

The funeral service for Peggy Cook will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Bible Baptist Church in Dodge City. Visitation will be on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Swaim funeral Chapel of Dodge City. Burial will follow the service on Saturday at Fairview Cemetery near Montezuma.
