Satanta - Penny Sue Long, 58, died May 22, 2013 at her home in Satanta. She was born on August 12, 1955 in Satanta, the daughter of Doris (Clymer) Desrochers.

Penny graduated from Sublette High School in 1974. She then went on to attend Seward County Community College where she obtained her cosmetology license. She owned and operated a salon in Sublette for several years. Penny later returned to school and became a certified CNA and CMA. She was employed at the Satanta Long Term Care Unit and the Satanta District Hospital until her health no longer allowed her to work. On December 12, 2004, she married Chris Long in Satanta. Penny loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also an avid fan of George Strait.

Penny is survived by her husband, Chris of the home; two daughters, DesiRae Jaso and husband David of Satanta and Dalaney Little of Sublette; one son, Coty Birney of Sublette; her mother, Doris Desrochers of Sublette; one sister, Cindy Long and husband Alan of Satanta; one brother, Jeffery Desrochers and Robin of Garden City; two step-brothers, Larry Pulis of Satanta and Ronny Pulis of Russell; three grandchildren, Maddison and Haven Jaso of Satanta and Brooklyn Gonzales of Satanta; and several aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sierra Little; grandparents, Clell and Pearl Clymer; and two uncles, Gerald and Floyd "Whitey" Clymer.

Graveside service will be held at Haskell County Cemetery on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Dr. Jerry Dupuis presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
