Protection - Phillip Wayne Doan, 53, died June 1, 2014 at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on March 6, 1961 at Kokomo, IN the son of Elmer and Mary (Harris) Doan.
He married Debbie DeCavelle on March 16, 2000 in Peru, Indiana, she survives. He served his country in the US Army during the Desert Storm War. Mr. Doan in his spare time enjoyed watching Minnesota Vikings Football, fishing, going to the casino and playing games on the computer. He loved spending time with his granddaughters and spending time with his family and playing with his dogs.
He is survived by his wife Debbie of Protection, Kansas two sons Chris Dyer and wife Ada of Watonga, Oklahoma; Sean Dyer and wife Cassie of Enid, Oklahoma; one daughter Julia Dyer and companion Jacob Sweet of Kingfisher, Oklahoma and four granddaughters Paisley, Leila, Oakley and Brooklyn. He is also survived by two sisters Virginia Rogers and husband Ishmael of Kokomo, Indiana; Pam Cloar and husband Ralph of Bunkerhill, Indiana and one brother Jimmy Doan of Kokomo, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Dodge on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Rod Crowell presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Phillip Doan Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
