Obituary

Dodge City - Phyllis Jean (Webb) Adams passed away September 11, 2023 in Pueblo West, Colorado. She was a much loved wife, mother, grandma, NaNa, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Phyllis was born in Dodge City, Kansas on September 29, 1934 to Larue and Donald Webb.

She met Roy Adams and they were married 49 years before his passing in 2001. They farmed and raised cattle east of Dodge City, Kansas. Phyllis moved to Cappella West Assisted Living of Pueblo West in 2015 to be closer to her three adult children in Colorado.

She was known for her good farm cooking and for hosting many large family dinners. Her daughters and granddaughters credit her for teaching them how to cook, entertain, and decorate for all holidays. She always welcomed people into her home and extended family have many fond memories of those times too. One of Phyllis's greatest joys was playing games with her grandkids and great grandkids. Before moving from Dodge, she would load her minivan with her great aunt and her friends and take them all to BINGO.  She continued her love of games at her assisted living home. The staff nicknamed her "The Ambassador"  because she would take new residents under her wing and show them the ropes.

Phyllis loved autumn and for her fall birthday, her kids would take her to see the beautiful fall leaves in the mountains and then to the casino at Cripple Creek. She looked forward to that trip and all the upcoming holidays.

Phyllis and Roy were members of the First Christian Church in Dodge City, Kansas.

Phyllis Adams is survived by daughter Sandi (Tom) of Canon City, Colorado, son Kenny (Pam) of Pueblo West, Colorado, and daughter Cindy (Gerald) of Colorado Springs.  She was blessed with five grandchildren: Crystal (Todd), Tara (Shane), Candace (Shaun), Nick (DeeDee), Cody (Callie), and eleven great grandchildren she adored. She was preceded in death by husband, Roy, her parents, brother, Phillip (Buddy) Webb, and baby sister, Carole Yvonne Webb. She will be incredibly missed by her family and friends.
