DODGE CITY - Phyllis M. Briseno, 77, died September 24, 2014 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home, Dodge City. She was born on August 23, 1937 at Dodge City, the daughter of Juan G. and Felipa (Martel) Briseno.
Phyllis was the head housekeeper at the Silver Spur for 37 years. She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.
Phyllis is survived by a son, Jerry V. Martinez and wife Elvira of Dodge City; a daughter, Dorothy M. Briseno of Dodge City; brother, Louis Briseno of Dodge City; sister, Julia Pate of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and niece Adela Almanza..She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Frank, Richard, Steven, and Guadalupe; and three sisters, Jovita Rodriguez, Dora Martinez, and Pilar Briseno.
Vigil Service will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Terrance Klein presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
