DODGE CITY - Phyllis M. Giersch, 76, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born on May 15, 1933 at Fowler the daughter of John Henry and Carrie Eleanor (Van Norman) Wright.

Phyllis was an office manager for C&M Supply, Stewart Plumbing and Sunflower Telephone all of Dodge City. She was active in the First Missionary Church and the First Church of God both of Dodge City. On December 20, 1952 she married Donald E. Giersch at Dodge City. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2005.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Michael Giersch and wife Denice of Dodge City and Stephen Patrick Giersch and wife Rickie of St. Charles, Illinois; a brother, Ivan Wright of Kokomo, Indiana; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Wright; and two sisters, Lillian Smith and Lois Roberts.

Memorial service will be held at the First Missionary Church on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jeff Turner presiding. Luncheon will follow the memorial service at the church. Private family interment will take place prior to memorial service at Fowler Cemetery in Fowler. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, February 25, 2010 from Noon to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
