Dodge City - Phyllis Mae Hulstine, 86, died May 9, 2011 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City. She was born on May 23, 1924 at Ashland, the daughter of Leland and Lydia Ellen (Pike) Hulstine.

Phyllis attended Ashland schools and graduated from Ashland High School. She was a telephone operator in Ashland. Phyllis then attended Wilcox Beauty Academy and was a beautician in Dodge City for many years.

She was a member of the First Church of God of Dodge City.

Phyllis is survived by two brothers, Dean Hulstine and wife Maxine of Ashland and Curtis Hulstine and wife Margaret of Wichita; two sister-in-laws, Velma Hulstine of Hutchinson and Hazel Hulstine of Colorado; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ivan and Gene Hulstine.

Graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery in Ashland on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Darrell Hendrickson presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Friday, May 13, 2011 from noon to 8:00 PM.
