Dodge City – Preston Sameul "Bud" Blackburn, 61, passed away October 1, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Bud was born on September 23, 1962, at Dodge City, Kansas the son of Raymond L. and Nadine M. (Frank) Blackburn.

Bud honorably served his country as a member of the Kansas Army National Guard for 29 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post #1714 all of Dodge City.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing softball, going to auto races and working on cars. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Bud married Margaret Bell on November 30, 2002, in Dodge City.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret of the home; daughter, Michelle Blackburn of the home; son, Kenton (Staci) Blackburn of Washington, MO; stepson, Matthew Bell of Plains, KS; stepdaughter, Lila (Kade) McDiffett of Garden City, KS; stepdaughter, Marie Franks of Phoenix, AZ.; sister, Tasha Fields of Cimarron, KS; and brother, Steve (Angela) Blackburn of Kinsley, KS. He is also survived by two grandchildren Tegan and Ayden Blackburn of Washington, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Joseph Dewaine Blackburn and Quentin Raymond Blackburn.

Visitation will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 10:00 am with Kirk Larson presiding.
