Obituary

Dodge City - Ramona Catherine Hutton, 80, died Friday, January 2, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born on December 19, 1934 in Dodge City, the daughter of Ralph A. and Marjorie Eileen Pittman. She grew up in Dodge City and graduated from Dodge City High School and attended Dodge City Junior College.

She married Neil Alva Hutton on September 5, 1953 at the United Methodist Church in Dodge City. She was a bookkeeper for Brunson Trucking, Ford county Realty and Southwest Livestock all of Dodge City. Ramona was known by her family and friends as Mona. She was an avid reader and enjoyed all creative handwork such as "counted cross stitch". She also enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies and Thomas Kinkade work. She was a friend to many and never met a stranger, she always had a listening ear.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a member of the Western Plains Hospital Auxiliary both of Dodge City.

Ramona is survived by three sons, Jeff Hutton and wife Jenny Dodge City, Todd Hutton and wife Ronda Topeka and Kyle Hutton and wife Jen Lawrence; 10 grandchildren, Maranda Rebel and husband D. J. of Hays, Matraca and Bradley Hutton of Dodge City, Chelsey and husband Mitch Wigington of Heflin, Alabama, Erica and companion Ray Cunningham of Belton, Missouri, Kailey Hutton of McFarland, Justin and Cody Richter of Topeka, Madison and Grayson Hutton of Topeka; four great grandchildren; a brother Darrell Pittman and wife Carolyn of Thornton, Colorado; a sister Bette Chuhta of Littleton, Colorado and a sister- in- law Kay Jones and husband Don of Peabody. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Neil Hutton on August 8, 2006, a granddaughter Faith Noelle Hutton and a brother-in-law Ed Chuhta.

Funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Dodge City on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Lance Carrithers presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Monday, January 5, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or Western Plains Auxiliary in care of the funeral home.
